Bay City Times / mLive.com News Article Workers locked-out at Bay City Carquest By Cole Waterman September 25, 2009, 9:38PM In the midst of unresolved contract negotiations, workers at Carquest Auto Parts, 508 McGraw in Bay City, are claiming they have been locked out and refused the right to work. “Our contract initially expired on Sept. 1,” said Dan Kennell, president of Bay City Local 12934-02 of the United Steelworkers of America. While the workers and representatives from Carquest parent company General Parts International, Inc. met repeatedly, it became clear it would take longer than Sept. 1 to resolve the matters.
